Ms. Pereira has recently joined Bay Area Criminal Lawyers, PC as a Post-Bar Law Clerk and as a prospective Associate following her successful admission to the California State Bar.
Brenly L. Pereira recently graduated magna cum laude from the University of California, Hastings College of the Law. While in law school, Ms. Pereira achieved numerous academic accolades, including the Best Brief Award in mock appellate court, was selected Executive Editor of the Hasting Journal of Crime and Punishment, and graduated in the top 3% of her class. Ms. Pereira also participated in the Criminal Practice Clinic, which works in conjunction with Marin County Public Defender’s office.
Ms. Pereira spent the summer after her 1L year interning with Justice Now, an Oakland based non-profit prison abolition organization focused on the needs of female prisoners, including alternative sentencing, documenting human rights abuses in prison, and providing legal services around women’s healthcare access. During the summer after her 2L year, Ms. Pereira interned at Bay Area Criminal Lawyers, PC where she gained valuable hands-on experience working with skilled criminal defense attorneys on violent and serious felonies.
