Kate O. Bredenberg is the newest associate attorney at Bay Area Criminal Lawyers, PC with her recent bar passage. Ms. Bredenberg was born and raised in the Bay Area. Prior to becoming an associate attorney with the firm, Ms. Bredenberg worked as a summer clerk where she assisted attorneys in drafting motions, reviewing discovery, and attending court proceedings. Ms. Bredenberg continued her work at Bay Area Criminal Lawyers, PC as a post-bar law clerk while she awaited bar results.

Associate attorney Kate O. Bredenberg received an undergraduate degree in Communication Studies from Gonzaga University in Spokane, Washington. Ms. Bredenberg also attended her first year of law school at the Gonzaga University School of Law before she completed her legal studies at the University of California, Hastings College of the Law in San Francisco, and graduated in May of 2022.

During her time at UC Hastings, Ms. Bredenberg competed on the Hastings Moot Court team, served as a staff editor for the Constitutional Law Quarterly, and worked as a Certified Law Student in the Individual Representation Clinic, Hastings’ in-house litigation clinic. Prior to transferring, Ms. Bredenberg interned with the Washington State Bar Moderate Means Program as well as the Washington Defender Association.

Ms. Bredenberg graduated from UC Hastings with a Pro Bono distinction and focused her volunteer work on helping people get their lives back after being entangled in the criminal justice system. Ms. Bredenberg volunteered at Elevate Community Center where she analyzed RAP sheets for potential sealing and expungement and at UnCommon Law where she drafted parole consultation letters for clients serving life sentences.

As an associate attorney on the BACL team, Kate O. Bredenberg will continue her devotion to obtaining justice within the criminal system. With an unwavering belief in human dignity at the forefront of her practice, Ms. Bredenberg is emphatically committed to criminal defense and believes all persons deserve an advocate who will listen to their stories and fight for them.
