Mylan A. Gerbeyesus

HR/Administrative and Marketing Specialist

A Bay Area native, team member Mylan A. Gerbeyesus is BACL’s HR/Administrative and Marketing Specialist is an experienced organizational development and human resources management professional with a deep commitment to social justice.

Ms. Gerbeyesus brings years of experience working with non-profit mission-driven organizations dedicated to community building and advocating on behalf of the disenfranchised. Before joining Bay Area Criminal Lawyers, PC, Ms. Gerbeyesus provided advocacy and support to incarcerated Californians fighting for resentencing and release, and worked on policy campaigns with the Ella Baker Center, a non-profit in Oakland whose primary focus is helping incarcerated individuals. She has a passion for educating people about their rights. Ms. Gerbeyesus has written columns for the Beat Within and San Quentin News, where she helped translate complex policy changes into easily digestible material for incarcerated individuals; she did this to help the incarcerated understand the changes to recent laws that could directly affect them.

Ms. Gerbeyesus graduated from Occidental College with a bachelor’s degree in American Studies, as well as a minor in Linguistics and Education.

As the HR/Administrative and Marketing Specialist, Ms. Gerbeyesus assists clients and attorneys in everyday firm activities. While at the firm, she hopes to expand her knowledge of the criminal justice system with a view toward going to law school.
