The founder of Bay Area Criminal Lawyers, PC is David J. Cohen, Esq., an experienced trial attorney with over 30 years of criminal litigation experience. Mr. Cohen is a graduate of the University of Chicago Law School and a former federal public defender. He has extensive experience both in the government and with major law firms.

Mr. Cohen has tried over 45 federal and state criminal cases to juries, and briefed and argued more than 60 federal and state criminal appeals. He has defended criminal cases, state and federal, large and small, first as a federal public defender in San Diego, California, then as a partner in firms he has founded and managed. He has won cases and appeals in courts throughout California.

The firm has a team of attorneys at your disposal working collaboratively in the zealous advocacy of your defense. Senior Associate attorney Clint C. Christoffersen graduated from the University of Hastings, College of Law, cum laude, and brings experience from his judicial fellowship at the U.S. Court of Appeals for the First Circuit, as well as his work externing at the California Supreme Court. Bay Area Criminal Lawyers, PC’s newest associate, Kayla Sparks, is new to her position, but not new to the firm as she previously served as a Summer Clerk, and then as a post-bar law clerk where she assisted attorneys in drafting motions, reviewing discovery, and attending court proceedings.
