Police say the robbery took place near the College Park Elementary School and that the male suspect fled on foot heading south after taking the woman’s property. Police went in pursuit of the suspect, but did not locate him.
The suspect was described to be in his teens or early twenties, approximately 6 feet tall with a stocky build. It is believed he is white or perhaps a light-skinned Latino. Police believe the suspect was armed with a handgun. Those with information are asked to contact the San Mateo Police Department.
